Year 6 Hawse End

Each autumn our pupils new to Y6 have the opportunity to take part in a residential at Hawes End, a centre for outdoor and adventurous activities, on the shores of Derwentwater in the Lake District. We leave early on the Friday morning and return on the following Monday. The activities are weather dependent, but usually consist of a high fell walk, rock climbing, ghyll scrambling and kayaking. The children always have a brilliant time - whatever the weather - and learn a lot about themselves.

• That was the best time ever!
• I didn't know I could do that...
• I had to make myself go through with it and I'm amazed I did it!
