Year 6 Visit Hawse End
ar 6 had a fabulous time at Hawse End and returned home with a real sense of adventure and being a team! Kayaking, ghyll scrambling, hill walking, archery, orienteering and climbing were enjoyed by all and most children said they wanted to stay for another week - "If only SATs were like this!"
Our fantastic new KS2 library is officially open!
We were delighted to have author Dan Smith come into school and cut the ribbon to open our newly refurbished Key Stage 2 library. Dan explained to the children how he developed a love of reading whilst growing up in the Indonesian rainforest - surrounded by crocodiles and spiders!
One of his recent books has now been made into a film and he signed lots of copies of his books for the children to enjoy. At Horton Grange we are passionate believers of reading for pleasure as a way of relaxing and learning new things. Reading makes you smarter! If you would like to come and see our new library please join us a one of our many parent open days and share a book with your child. Key Stage 1 library is our next project. Watch this space...

100% Attendance Heroes
Coming to school every day is vital in ensuring our children make the best progress they possibly can. We celebrate good attendance in a number of ways throughout the school year and today the 40 children who have achieved 100% attendance this year visited Starbowl. They enjoyed a burger and chips lunch and competing against each other on the 10-pin lanes. Great fun was had by all and they returned to school with huge smiles on their faces. Thank you to all parents and friends who supported this fantastic achievement. Your support really makes a difference.
Year 6 Performance of Joseph
After weeks of humming, singing, acting, perspiring, crying, laughing and supporting this week saw Year 6 saying their goodbye to Horton Grange by performing Joseph. Everybody worked exceptionally hard and learned a lot about themselves. They did not give up when things got tough. They showed grit and determination to succeed
